J. Tyler Bennett, founder and current President of Bennett Hardwoods Inc. started in the lumber business in 1961 and when he was joined by Bob Daniels in 1966 the Bennett Daniels Lumber Company took shape. Located in Central Wisconsin, Bennett Daniels Lumber Company continued in business until 1986 when Bob Daniels retired. At that point Bennett Daniels was sold and J. Tyler Bennett remained on as a consultant with the buyer for a period of two years.

In 1988 Tyler and Katrine Bennett started a new company, Bennett Hardwoods Inc. A new yard was built in Prairie du Chien, WI. Prairie du Chien is located in the southwest portion of the state. This area is noted as having excellent quality, color and texture in all Northern hardwoods.

Bennett Hardwoods has eleven state of the art kilns (600,000 feet per charge) as well as planing and straight line ripping capability. A new waste burner was completed in 2001. Prior to kiln drying all lumber is air dried in our four air drying buildings.

We consistently maintain a lumber inventory of three million feet. We carry all Northern and most Appalachian species ranging from 4/4 to 16/4 in thickness. We have a spur on the BNSF railroad and are served by a large number of trucking companies..
